Welcome to worship on this Lord's Day. This morning we continue our consideration of the “Five solas” of the Reformation in honor of the 500th anniversary of the nailing of the 95 theses by Martin Luther. This evening we give consideration to another of the “Stories of Grace in Genesis” as found in Genesis 24.
Pastor Tim anticipates a same day surgery in Sioux Falls on Tuesday morning to remove a nodule (non cancer) from his vocal cord. He is advised not to speak for three days after the surgery but should be ready by Sunday. If you need to get hold of him during the week it is best to e-mail or text.

The Southwest MN Christian High School music department will perform their fall concert, “Songs from Childhood,” on Thursday, October 19 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The music selections performed by the vocal groups and band will include childhood folk music, common songs from Sunday School, and songs from the years students were born. Also premiering are two new pep-band pieces for the upcoming winter athletic activities. Please join us for an evening of enjoying the talents of our students and encouraging them in their fine arts activities.
A seminar--Policies, Statuses, and Lives of Immigrants & Refugees--will be hosted by New Roots Ministry on Saturday, October 21 from 10AM--2:15PM. It will be in the Community Room of the Sioux Falls Ministry Center (225 E. 11th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104) Speakers will include Amon Eustache as the keynote speaker, and two people who share their personal experiences as refugees and with DACA--Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. A non-denominational Sing-A-Long of traditional hymns and open house will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Sunday, October 22, at 2:00 PM with refreshments following. There will be an opportunity to view the historic stone church up close, along with items used in early services. A free-will donation will go to ongoing renovation efforts of Historic Pipestone Inc.
SWCH Circle #5 is having a Card Party/Bake Sale on Friday, November 3. Bake Sale will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Card Party to follow at 7:00 p.m. SHARP. Rook/Pinochle/other games available. $5.00 per person to play. Popcorn & drinks will be provided. Ice cream sundaes will be served - freewill donation. This event would be fun for all ages. Come, join us for a night of fun & food while supporting SWCH!
The Brown Family (Le Mars, IA) Concert at Southwest MN Christian High School, Edgerton, MN will be held on Friday, November 10 starting at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Their music from the heart - family style, will include patriotic, praise and worship, and a few holiday selections. Please mark your calendars for an evening of soaking in the sounds of remembrance, joy, and celebration! Tickets are $10.00 in advance, $12.00 at the door.
