Today is Communion Sunday. All who are sorry for their sins, trust Jesus alone for salvation, and are members in good standing in a Christian church are welcome to participate. All are welcome to join the pot luck luncheon this noon.
This evening we welcome Rev. Roger Sparks to lead our worship; Pastor Tim will be in Prinsburg for a post-Classis exchange.
We will continue our policy of greeting but not shaking hands due to health concerns.
Christian sympathy to Herb and Dorothy Wolterstorff in the loss the Herb’s brother, Nick, last Sunday. They covet our prayers.
Cadet Sub Sale has begun. There is a signup sheet in the Fellowship Hall for anyone wanting to order sandwiches.
Minn-I-Kota News: Minn-I-Kota is having a busy spring! We are getting prepared for the summer SERVE projects and are looking for a few chaperones to go along. Please let Kandace Brands know if you are interested in going along on a trip this summer, one that is life changing! Also, there are two sites still open for youth that Minn-I-Kota is providing travel to, Benton Harbor and the Disaster Response site. Take a look on Youth Unlimited’s site at www.youthunlimited.org. General Announcements
The Dordt College Concert Band, Campus-Community Band, and Jazz Band will present a concert Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. There is no charge for admission. A freewill offering will be received to benefit music scholarships at Dordt.
“The Worlds of the Maya” travelogue will be presented at Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday at 7:30 p.m. It was filmed in Belize and Guatemala, two of the countries involved in ancient Mayan culture. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for students. An Irish travelogue on Friday, March 19 has also been added to the original KDCR travelogue schedule to replace a cancelled show in January.
Southwest Christian High School will be hosting AXIS (axisworldview.org): a non-denominational, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to impacting young adults intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, through interactive sessions on predominant worldviews and pressing issues as part of their spiritual enrichment week. All parents, grandparents, and interested parties are invited to this Christian Worldview meeting on Wednesday, March 17 at the SWCH music room beginning at 7:30 p.m. in which the AXIS team explains the Christian Worldview, shares 10 popular media examples relating to worldview, and has a panel discussion about their college experiences. Join us for an informative evening relating to our children, their beliefs, and our role in training them.
Plan on Friday, March 19 (1:00 p.m.-late) and Saturday, March 20 (8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) for another Chat and Craft Weekend at Bethel CRC in Edgerton. We are mixing it up this time…Friday supper is going to be a Dutch Potluck! Bring a dish to share for supper! Saturday breakfast and lunch will be provided. Remember to bring enough supplies, a snack to share, and your own beverages. We would love to see crafts of all kinds and the fellowship hall full both days! On Thursday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m., the Calvin College Wind Ensemble will present a concert at SWCH in Edgerton as part of its Spring Tour 2010. Dr. Tiffany Engle will lead Calvin’s 35-piece concert band in a program titled “Heroes, Legends, and Icons.” The SWCH Band will also perform under the direction of Wilbert Talen. Please join us for our fifteenth annual Easter Music Festival at the First CRC in Edgerton Sunday, March 28 at 2:30 p.m. SWCH choir, area church choirs and choral groups will present individual numbers during this afternoon of praise. Members of the audience will be invited to join the mass choir for the Hallelujah Chorus. An offering will be taken for SWCH.
The Pipestone Ministerial is sponsoring a sacred music program at the Performing Arts Center on Palm Sunday, March 28, at 3:00 p.m. Individuals or groups from the various churches will be providing music, including Hearts of Praise and Reggie Gorter from our church.
