Congregational News and Notes
Welcome to worship on this Lord's Day. This morning we give consideration to the blessings of God’s
forgiveness. This evening we continue our study of stories of grace in Genesis from Genesis 32.
Needed: Scripture Readers for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany. Please contact Cheryl Kruse if you are willing to participate.
Still need 1 person to help at the Food Shelf Wednesday, Nov 22 from 2-5 p.m. Thank you to those who have already volunteered.
There will be a Community Thanksgiving Service at Peace United Methodist Church next Sunday evening at 7:00 PM.
Once again our church will be participating in Operation Christmas Child and we are making available to you a few different options on how you can participate.
Option 1: Pick up a shoe box(s) as you have in the past, fill it, and return it to the church no later than November 12
Option 2: Do not pick up a box but instead purchase items for the boxes and bring the items to the church. You do not need to designate whether it is for boy or girl or age as the items will be sorted by the young people who will fill the boxes.
Option 3: For those who find it difficult to shop, consider donating money and the young people will do the shopping for you. This donation can be given to Brooke Van Essen or Marie Ekdom. Please keep in mind that each filled box has to include a donation of $9.00 per box for shipping and handling. (This applies also to options 1 & 2). Make checks out to: Samaritan Purse with a note on the memo line that the donation is for Operation Christmas Child.
Boxes are due no later than November 19

This coming Friday, November 17, is the annual Carry the Light (donation sale) at Southwest MN Christian High School. A burger meal will start at 5:00 p.m. and served until 6:15 p.m. (free-will donation). Also starting at 5:00 p.m., all donated certificates will be available to purchase at twice the value of the card (Ex: a gift card to Scheel’s valued at $25.00 will be sold for $50.00). Unsold certificates from 5:00-6:15 time slot, will be then auctioned off during men’s and women’s auctions. This replaces the silent auction and will help keep the auction on track for the evening. The auctions will begin at 6:30 with opening devotions. If you would like to make a donation to benefit the Christian education of all the current students and for generations to come, please drop them off at the school office – 550 Elizabeth, St. Edgerton, MN. Please extend this invitation to family and friends for a night of reflecting on the many individuals who have walked the halls of SWMCH, their story being part of God's great story. Each student, teacher, parent, supporter, visitor, along with the instruction and other events, have been part of the history and a timeline of God's blessings, grace, mercy and love. Help us celebrate in thanksgiving response with your attendance and participation in this annual event.
