The Council proposes the nominees for Elder to be Mike Cooper, Willard Kas and Todd Tinklenberg and for Deacon Michael Jasper and Corey Van Essen. A congregational meeting to elect the nominees will be after the morning worship today.

All women of the community are invited to Discover Ephesians. This study begins with the background story of Paul’s work in Ephesus. We will go on to discover powerful reminders of our relationship with Christ, how we are called to live in that relationship, and how we have the power to stand against the schemes and plans of the devil. The fall session of Coffee Break and Children’s Story Hour (ages 3-Kindergarten) begins October 4 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First CRC in Edgerton. Nursery will be provided. If you have questions or if you would like to attend but cannot make it to the first meeting, contact Thea (442-3512 or 507-227-9513) or Elaine (442-8751).
Atlas for life is having their final boutique sale. Due to Deb Spronk's death and her working tirelessly in the boutique, we will not be able to keep it open. Come and see some of the last things made by her and other beautiful repurposed items. We will also have a rummage of misc. items and then a basement full of items and furniture that Deb did not get repurposed. Come find a bargain. Friday, Sept. 22 from 3-7 and Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9-1. BBQ, bars and chips available!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Coffee Break Bible Study and Story Hour is looking for volunteers to help out in the nursery and story hour. It is exciting to have several young mothers coming with their children to study God’s word! Coffee Break meets on Wednesday mornings 9:30 a.m. at First CRC in Edgerton, starting October 4. The schedule is flexible. You can volunteer weekly, twice a month or once a month. Please contact Thea Nykamp (507-227-9513) or Elaine Tinklenberg (442-8751).
Apples of Gold will start soon! Apples of Gold is building up marriages, mothers, and lives worldwide. It’s not just a mentoring program, it’s not just a cooking class…it’s a nurturing, intergenerational connection that teaches women how to love their husbands, love their children, and how to practice submission, hospitality, kindness, and purity. A new season of Apples of Gold will be held September-November 2017. Meetings will be Mondays (9/18, 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13) from 4:30-7:30 at First CRC of Edgerton. There are six lessons and then a grand finale supper with spouses. The first hour is a cooking demonstration, the second hour is Bible study, and the third hour we enjoy the meal that was prepared in the demonstration. If you have participated in AOG in the past, you know what a blessing it is. Please encourage/invite someone new to participate in the program. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Fay Van Essen 507-920-0729 or Karen Fey 507-227-6392.
